The Department of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO) has warned young South African women not to fall victim to human trafficking syndicates disguised as glamorous overseas opportunities.

This comes after a trending social media post by club host and reality TV star Inno Morolong, calling for “beautiful girls” willing to work at a club overseas to contact her via Instagram.

In her post, Morolong stated that all expenses, including flights and accommodation, would be covered.

This has sparked outrage on social media, with many claiming that Morolong is blatantly advertising sex trafficking in public and questioning why no action has been taken.

Others have alleged that the Free State-born star has been involved in similar activities before, claiming she recruited students from the University of the Free State to Gauteng, where they were allegedly exposed to drugs and prostitution.

DIRCO spokesperson Clayson Monyela has assured the public that law enforcement agencies are attending to this and other human trafficking-related activities.

“Human trafficking is real, and young women are increasingly falling victim to syndicates behind these scams,” said Monyela.

“They dress these offers with attractive features, but the reality on the other side is often slave-like conditions. Please warn others. DIRCO is running an awareness campaign on this.”

At the time of publishing, Morolong had not responded to the allegations.
