A light-hearted conversation on workplace love languages from Feel Good with Andy Maqondwana.

What makes you feel appreciated at work?
It could be something as simple as a kind gesture from a colleague, support from your boss, or even those small moments that turn an ordinary day into a great one.
For some people, it is a warm hug in the office or a thoughtful gesture that shows someone is thinking of you. For others, it is something more practical, like a proper free lunch. Not just a quick bite, but a real meal that says, “we value you.”
There is also the employer side of workplace love languages, from team building days to being allowed to leave early when you need to sort out personal matters, or even just the simple act of being appreciated for your work.
Then there are the colleague moments too. Someone bringing in breakfast, sharing amagwinya or cake, or simply making the workday lighter and more enjoyable.
For many, it’s even simpler than that. The real workplace love languages that keep people going are payday, half-day, leave days, or off days.
But the biggest one of all is money. Recognition, bonuses, and hitting targets speak the loudest love language of all.
