Kaizer Chiefs’ seven-match unbeaten streak in the Betway Premiership was brought to a halt on Wednesday night following a 2-0 defeat to Siwelele FC.
The game started at a lively pace, with the hosts showing early intent and catching Kaizer Chiefs cold.

That early goal seemed to knock the rhythm out of Kaizer Chiefs, who looked a step off after their recent Soweto Derby outing. Siwelele, meanwhile, grew in confidence and continued to push forward with purpose.
Their second goal arrived in the 26th minute, and it was well worked. Ghampani Lungu picked out Siphesihle Jeza, who calmly finished to register his first goal in professional football and hand the hosts a comfortable 2-0 lead before the break.
KAIZER CHIEFS STRUGGLE TO BREAK DOWN SIWELELE WALL
Amakhosi saw more of the ball in the second half and tried to respond, but clear chances were hard to come by. Siwelele stayed compact at the back, disciplined in their shape and difficult to break down, forcing Amakhosi into rushed decisions in the final third.
In the end, Kaizer Chiefs’ struggles in front of goal proved costly. The result lifts Siwelele up to ninth on the table, while Amakhosi remain third, missing a chance to strengthen their position in the race for CAF Confederation Cup qualification.
