You may know them from your television screens, but now they are celebrating academic success at the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN).
Isibaya actress Amina Jack has obtained a Bachelor of Social Science Honours degree in Psychology from UKZN.
Popularly known for her role as Thokozani in Isibaya, Jack has once again shown that there are no limits when it comes to pursuing your dreams.
Reflecting on the achievement, Jack said her academic journey was mentally demanding as she balanced her acting career with her studies.
She, however, praised the psychological support offered by UKZN, saying she does not believe she would have made it without their assistance.
Jack recalled travelling overnight between Johannesburg and Pietermaritzburg during her first year of study so she could attend classes while filming the final season of Isibaya.
“It was mentally challenging, but I made it.
“I don’t think I would have gone through the mental issues that I was dealing with without my psychologist,” said Jack.
When asked what is next for her, Jack said she is currently taking a break from studying in order to gain practical experience.
She plans to register for a master’s degree in future, with the long-term goal of completing a PhD.
Meanwhile, Amahle Biyela, wife of Mpumelelo Mseleku Biyela, also graduated from the University of KwaZulu-Natal in recent days.
She thanked God for making the achievement possible.
Biyela rose to fame after aspiring polygamist Mpumelelo Mseleku paid lobola for her during the popular Izingane Zes’thembu show in 2025.
